Alright folks, gather ’round! I’ve unearthed some…interesting color palettes. Apparently, some folks out there have been given the very important task of deciding what colors go together. And judging by some of these, they might have been colorblind or actively trying to sabotage a small business owner’s dreams.
Palette 1: Abstract Nightmare Fuel
I’m not entirely sure what this color palette is trying to achieve. Is it trying to evoke a sense of, like, existential dread? Because if so, mission accomplished! I’m picturing a logo design featuring these colors, and honestly, it would probably be for a company that sells haunted furniture or something. Who decided these colors were a good idea? Seriously, I want to know! I’m imagining a designer presenting this to a client, and the client just staring back in stunned silence, slowly backing away while dialing 9-1-1. “Yes, officer, I think someone needs to be stopped from using these colors!”
Honestly, if you’re feeling down, just look at this color palette. It’ll make you realize that things could always be worse. You could be responsible for unleashing this chromatic monstrosity upon the world. Just think of all the poor graphic designers who have to actually *use* this palette. Their nightmares are probably filled with dancing color swatches, mocking their sanity. Maybe they should start a support group. “Color Palette Victims Anonymous.” I’d join.
Palette 2: The “Man” Palette – Because Men Only Like Brown?
Okay, who decided to pigeonhole “manly” colors into various shades of dirt and beige? Was there a meeting? Did someone stand up and declare, “Yes, men only like the colors of a dusty attic and a slightly moldy basement!”? It’s the ‘Man Color Palette,’ folks! It includes colors like…well, mostly various shades of beige that, if you were to see them in your child’s diaper, you would be concerned.
Seriously, what is this even supposed to be *for*? Are we branding lumberjacks? Designing camouflage for squirrels? Making the world’s most boring website? I’m genuinely insulted. Men have range! We like blue! We like green! Some of us even dabble in…gasp…*purple*! Don’t limit us to the color of discarded cardboard and slightly aged coffee stains. This is the kind of color palette that makes you question the entire concept of assigned gender roles. It’s the chromatic equivalent of assuming all men want a grill and a subscription to a magazine about power tools. Newsflash: some of us prefer art and artisanal cheeses.
So, the next time you’re thinking about creating a color palette that’s supposed to represent “man,” maybe broaden your horizons a little. Think about the vibrant colors of a well-worn flannel shirt, the deep blue of a classic car, or even the subtle hues of a craft beer label. Just, for the love of all that is holy, please avoid the “Man Color Palette” unless you’re intentionally trying to create something soul-crushingly bland. In that case, you’ve nailed it.
